Defining Moments

Test your knowledge of tech terms.

Not all Web sites are designed to be protected against changes being made by visitors. In fact, one type of Web site is set up specifically to allow visitors to add or edit its content. For example, one well-known site is a continually evolving encyclopedia in dozens of languages that claims to have some half million articles written by contributors on current events, geography, history, technology, and so on (there are, of course, policies and procedures that monitor the changes made). What is this kind of Web site called?

Hint: It’s part of a Hawaiian phrase meaning “quick.”

Answer: Wiki.
