Video-game technology being adapted to help train first responders. One of the latest examples is Hazmat: Hotzone, a program being developed by the Entertainment Technology Center at Carnegie Mellon University in collaboration with the Fire Department of New York to train first responders to deal with hazardous materials. @ If you wish to participate in the beta testing, sign up on the Hazmat: Hotzone mailing list and express your interest. Since the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster in 2011, nuclear regulators around the globe have introduced new requirements to improve nuclear safety and security. The Government Accountability Office details the new changes and elaborates on measures still needed to improve nuclear security in the United States.
