Lawmakers in the Missouri Senate have introduced a bill (S. 2) that would make it illegal to knowingly receive, sell, or obtain personal health information on anyone without their consent. The bill offers exemptions for law enforcement officers or other government agencies performing their official duties. Exemptions are also given for healthcare providers, insurance companies, or others who need such information to provide care.
