Quick Bytes: Goin' Steady

IT security budgets are holding fast, with 81 percent of top IT executives saying they do not expect budgetary decreases in 2008. That’s according to an annual survey commissioned by Albuquerque, New Mexico-based VanDyke Software and conducted by Amplitude Research, of Boca Raton, Florida in which 300 executives were polled. Respondents also named their most pressing issues. Most commonly named were securing remote access (50 percent this year, up from 47 percent last year); updating virus definitions (42 percent compared to 45 percent); and intrusion monitoring (40 percent, same as last year).
