Ninety-four percent of government chief information security officers (CISO) do not consider telecommuting to be a security threat, according to a study that was supported by Hewlett-Packard. And about two-thirds say mobile-device security ranks among their top priorities. About 83 percent say laptop use has risen in the past year, and 17 percent say laptops comprised half their agency’s computers. The study, which included 35 of the federal government’s 117 CISOs, also found that 83 percent of respondents were strongly interested in mobile endpoint certification as a way to comply with the Federal Information Security Management Act.
