ASIS International and LRQA have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU). Under the agreement, ASIS will provide a list of eligible security professionals who have completed the ASIS ISO 28000 lead auditor training to LRQA. In turn, LRQA will train and mentor these individuals in preparation to conduct contracted ISO 28000 audits.

The ASIS International ISO 28000 Lead Auditor Course, launched in 2009, prepares security professionals to assess security and supply chain risks, maintain and improve security management systems, and successfully conduct security management system audits.

LRQA is at the forefront of supply chain security development and was the first certification body to issue a certificate against ISO:28000 (Supply Chain Security), the global supply chain security management system standard.

The MOU connects ASIS International’s leading security knowledge and training capabilities with LRQA’s world-class auditing and quality assurance services. Through this cross-training and competency-evaluation partnership, eligible security professionals will enhance security-industry skills and expand their professional’s capabilities.

“This agreement will bring considerable benefits to the global security industry and those organizations requiring certification or verification of the performance and quality of security programs,” stated Peter Boyce, Senior Business Manager, LRQA, Security Management Systems, Asia.

LRQA ASIS Agreement

I appreciate the work Peter Boyce and Marc Seigel have done in this area.

Increased threats and new strains on the supply chain are making ISO 28000 an essential tool for business.
