Event: Education
09/19/2007 - 09/21/2007

Finally, after an unintentional three year hiatus, InfowarCon (www.infowarcon.com), the world's premier international conference on Information Warfare, Operations and Cyberterrorism is back. Event founder Winn Schwartau took to Federal Court to assert full and legal control of his intellectual property and has acted quickly to bring back this marquis event for 2007.

Schwartau's first move was to form a new partnership with Larstan Events (subsidiary of Larstan Publishing Inc.) to manage and market the event. “Larstan has deep experience in both the security space and events, I couldn’t have found a better partner to help take the InfowarCon franchise to the next level,” said Schwartau.

After scheduling the event for September 19-21 at the Marriott Bethesda North Hotel and Conference Center, the next piece of business is to reassemble the all-important board of advisors who provide access to the speakers who help provide the unique InfowarCon experience. Already, the InfowarCon Board of Advisors includes such luminaries as: Dr. Dan Kuehl, Professor National, Defense University; Howard A. Schmidt, Former White House, Cyber Security Advisor; Richard Forno, Infowarrior.Org; Mark Rasch, Former DoJ Cybercrime Prosecutor.

Historically, InfowarCon has been a primary force in getting disparate groups to talk to each other. Schwartau has created an environment where the traditional "Stovepiping" "Turf Protection" and “Politics As Usual” has been whisked away in a mutually agreed upon effort to serve the greater good. The 2007 program will provide cutting edge debate, discussion and interactive demonstrations for the most senior of global thinkers on International policy & cooperation, information force projection, protection & security, private-public critical infrastructure convergence and defense, regional and municipal participation and first response.

Dr Malcom Davis, a lecturer in Defence Studies with the Defence Studies Department of King's College London paid homage to the threat, “Cyberwar is going to be a key aspect of future conflicts as we are information-dependent and an enemy, which may not be so information dependent, can use cyberwar to launch strategic attacks on this opponent's military and society.”
