Honeywell of Louisville, Kentucky, has introduced the PW-6000 Intelligent Controller, an advanced hardware architecture capable of providing access control solutions for large enterprise applications. Designed to operate without a PC, it makes independent assessments of access control events, but it can also be connected to a host computer for system configuration, alarm monitoring, and direct control using direct serial communication, dial-up modem, or TCP/IP network connection. In response to customer requests for more memory, the PW-6000 preserves the basic functionality of the PW-5000 but is a more powerful extension. The new controller also has an embedded Web server for configuring key hardware attributes previously selected by other methods, allowing for faster integration, startup, and troubleshooting.
