RS2 Technologies, LLC, of Munster, Indiana, has released the new EP Series of system control processors. Based on open-architecture hardware from Mercury Security Corporation of Long Beach, California, the EP-1502 and EP-2500 support multi-grouped holidays, precision access, and multiple time zones. Both feature AES 128-bit NIST Certified Encryption and support biometric access verification, PINs, and up to eight active card formats. The EP-1502 has a standard memory of six megabytes that can accommodate up to 197,000 cards and 50,000 events, while the EP-2500 has 12 megabytes of memory for handling 395,000 cards and 50,000 events. When combined with interface panels, each unit will support up to 64 readers, 512 input points, or 512 output relays, depending on system configuration.
