Audible exit assistance

Appears in the issue.

NOTIFIER of Northford, Connecticut, offers the ONYX ExitPoint audible exit technology. Installed near building exits or along egress routes, the compact speaker produces broadband noise to lead people toward exits. When triggered by the building’s fire alarm control panel, it alerts building occupants to the location of the nearest exit using directional sound. When emergency lighting and signage are obstructed by smoke, the sound actively assists evacuation. The unit generates noise at all frequencies across the human hearing range. Varying tones and intensities provide distinctive directional cues and do not interfere with traditional horns and bells.
