CCTV Audio Alert

Appears in the issue.

On-Net Surveillance Systems, Inc., of Suffern, New York, has added a new audio alert feature to its IP video surveillance solution. Sensitive microphones connected to the audio input on IP cameras can detect audio events such as gunshots, screams, sirens, and other noises that may not be detected by video cameras. Once an event is detected, the software platform can “push” live video of the event or area to the user’s control room display, trigger recording, increase the recording frame rate, and/or send e-mail or text message notifications to users. The IP video solution also offers extensive audio support, including audio plus video recording capabilities on all channels and an encrypted tamperproof database for use as courtroom evidence.
