SMobile Systems of Columbus, Ohio, has introduced ContactCrypt 1.6, a software application for iPhone that encrypts sensitive personal and business data, including contact names, home addresses, account numbers, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses. Most iPhones lack inherent encryption capabilities, and personal contact information can easily be accessed from a lost, stolen, or compromised unit. Other security applications are used to protect passwords, but the ContactCrypt actually encrypts core components of the operating system. It is available via the iTunes App Store.
