The Hazardous Gas and Vapor Identifier (HGVI) uses ion mobility spectrometry, photoionization detection, and Taguchi gas sensors to look at unknown substances from various angles. The device employs the company’s H-Fusion decision enhancement software to improve analytical accuracy. It was designed by Smiths in conjunction with first response teams to provide the most likely identification quickly and accurately.
