Compliant ID middleware

Sagem Morpho Inc. of Tacoma, Washington, has received Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS-140-2 and FIPS-201) certification for its Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Middleware. The cryptographic security guidelines provide PIV cards with additional protection. Middleware serves as an interface, telling authentication and security key applications where to write data on the PIV card. The certified middleware and software libraries are part of the company’s biometric security solution, along with MorphoAccess Terminals and MorphoSmart Optic Terminals, both of which are in the process of obtaining GSA approval.
