The Triplex Family of digital video recorders from Speco Technologies of Amityville, New York, offers easy recording, copying, and installation. The newest IP-based recorder is the DVR-4TL/160, which offers four channels, MPEG-4, and triplex operation that allows simultaneous recording, live viewing, and playback. It features digital zoom on live video and a full record/alarm/motion detection schedule utility. The 19-inch rack-mount unit records 60 frames per second and has a single removable hard-disk drive enclosure that supports up to a single 750-gigabyte drive. Each DVR includes a free DDNS server for use with dynamic IP addresses, in addition to static ones.
