Door Access Control

Appears in the issue.

Smarter Security Systems of Austin, Texas, has introduced its improved Fastlane Door Detective, a cost-effective way to secure critical doors and prevent tailgating. It features microprocessors that are programmed with neural network software. Once an access control system grants access to a user and unlocks the door, active infrared beams from door-mounted enclosures monitor how many people pass through the doorway and in what direction. Alarms identify violations, and the technology virtually eliminates false alarms. Installation is improved via a simple CAT-5 interconnect between the two enclosures. It has a separate input that connects with an entry phone system, allowing multiple authorized visitors to pass through without alarm.
