A new very-early-warning fire detector from System Sensor of St. Charles, Illinois, protects personnel and assets from fire by detecting the faintest traces of smoke in challenging environments. The FAAST Fire Alarm Aspiration Sensing Technology draws air samples through a pipe network. The dual vision sensing technology uses an extremely sensitive blue LED to provide detection up to 60 minutes before combustion. In addition it uses an infrared laser to identify nuisances like dust that can cause false alarms and downtime. An onboard Ethernet port easily connects to a computer, a network, and the Internet, enabling managers to monitor and protect their environments from any Internet browser, smart phone, or mobile device. The detector can also e-mail status notifications to multiple addresses.
