People and objects can be identified even in demanding lighting conditions via two new fixed cameras from Axis Communications of Chelmsford, Massachusetts. The indoor AXIS Q1614 and the outdoor AXIS Q1614-E cameras capture quick movements and record at twice the usual frame rate, making them ideal for traffic monitoring and city surveillance. Both cameras offer 720p recording at 50 or 60 frames per second. Wide dynamic range-dynamic capture technology allows the cameras to handle scenes with contrasting bright and dark areas. The company’s Lightfinder technology also allows for operation in extremely low light without switching to black-and-white images.
