Hybrid DVR

Vicon Industries Inc. of Hauppauge, New York, now offers a single-box solution to combine video management software with integrated access control. The Kollector Bridge is a hybrid digital video recorder that supports 16 analog and eight IP or meg­a­pixel cameras with the ViconNet open platform video management system. It includes the Vicon SMS Extreme Controller, which provides access control support for up to 128 card readers. It re­cords at up to 480 frames per second across all channels, with a choice of H.264, M-JPEG, and MPEG-4 encoding. It can stand alone or be networked with NVRs and/or DVRs, and it can control live and recorded video from cameras and devices anywhere on the network. Access control events and corresponding video are automatically linked.
