Uniloc USA Inc. of Irvine, California, has introduced StrongPoint, a device-based identity and access management appliance for infrastructure security. It uses device fingerprinting to ensure secure private networks between a StrongPoint server at the network operating center and appliances located at field controls. It provides protection against unauthorized insider and cyber security threats for SCADA networks in the transportation, government, and utility industries. Because SCADA networks are essential to delivering services across critical infrastructures, they require protection against both internal and external threats. StrongPoint appliances restrict SCADA network access to designated PCs at the operating center, so a hacker must be on an authorized PC to impersonate an authorized user.
