Intelligent video

Appears in the issue.

Lenel Systems International of Pittsford, New York, has introduced seven software solutions to address common video surveillance situations. The software provides a simplified user interface and facilitates implementation by bundling a number of video analysis algorithms and preconfiguring them. The software uses built-in mechanisms to address typical video surveillance issues such as human shadow removal, automatic background learning, object shape and texture analysis, and filters for false objects. Other mechanisms stabilize the video and map the camera view to the three-dimensional world. The seven solutions address intrusion detection, crowd control, loitering, standing vehicles, forbidden direction or path of motion, camera triggering, and facility utilization. The company will continue to offer customized solutions for applications that require a higher degree of customization than the prepackaged solutions provide.
