The BIP-1600c-dn two-megapixel IP camera from Basler Vision Technologies of Ah­rensburg, Germany, now also features true day/night functionality. The day/night functionality with automatically retractable infrared cut filter is now available in all Basler IP camera models. During normal lighting conditions, the filter is positioned in front of the imaging sensor, resulting in high-quality color images. When the ambient light decreases, the automatic exposure control moves the mechanical filter aside and replaces it with a clear filter to keep the correct back focal length, and the camera shifts into a black-and-white mode. An ultra-compact, all-metal housing facilitates installation.
