Vicon Industries, Inc., of Hauppauge, New York, has introduced the I-ONYX Series of Internet protocol cameras. Powered by ViconNet software, the series was introduced with three models: a super-high resolution model, a day/night version, and a wide dynamic range model. All three can deliver up to 30 frames per second of high-quality video across the network and can be powered by Ethernet or 24 VAC. The cameras use ViconNet MPEG-4 compression to optimize file size and maximize picture quality, enabling simultaneous transmission of multiple channel video across the LAN and WAN to recorders and workstations. Cameras can be remotely configured across the network using a ViconNet workstation or Kollector Elite recorder. Cameras also support museum search, motion detection, alarm reporting, macros, and alarm configuration. An analog composite output serves as a redundant video source in case of network failure.
