MegaPixel Camera

Appears in the issue.

JVC Professional Products Company of Wayne, New Jersey, has expanded its V.Networks line of IP-based video products with the new VN-X35U IP security camera. The new 1.3-megapixel camera offers real-time image scaling from VGA to QUAD VGA without affecting the viewing angle. Thus, users can conserve bandwidth with VGA images and benefit from megapixel resolution when needed. The camera uses a sensitive 1/3-inch progressive scan CCD and delivers both JPEG and MPEG-4 streams simultaneously at 15 frames per second. Bidirectional audio with built in microphone and speaker jacks provides the ability to communicate with people at the camera location. Because pan-tilt-zoom functions are digital, no moving parts are involved. An infrared cut filter enables images in light levels as low as 0.3 lux (color) or 0.2 lux (black-and-white). Other features include automatic gain control, day/night function, and support for Power over Ethernet.
