Dedicated Micros Inc. of Chantilly, Virginia, has added a compact, lightweight recorder to its family of mobile digital video recorders. The TransVu Express is designed for use in smaller buses, public service vehicles, taxis, and covert surveillance operations. Low power consumption makes it ideal for quick deployment in isolated areas with no electrical supply. The unit can run on batteries using solar power. Intelligent power management based on ignition and supply voltage sensors allows the unit to carry on recording for a predefined period after a vehicle’s engine has been turned off.
