The Barionet 50 from Barix AG of Zurich, Switzerland, is a fully programmable network controller that is ideal for interfacing devices and real world input/output via IP with open, standards-based monitoring and control platforms. It uses very low power and is appropriate for applications such as smart grid control and intelligent building management. The device can implement serial protocols and take actions based on the provided data. It offers four logical inputs and four relays for interfacing to contact closures and RS-232 and RS-485 serial ports. Barix offers its programmable BCL standard open to all customers to easily customize applications.
