A new line of night vision products based on ATN White Phosphor Technology (WPT) offers black-and-white images rather than the usual green ones. New from American Technologies Network, Corp., of South San Francisco, California, the technology is available in items including a tactical monocular, a multifunctional pocket-scope/goggle, and medium- to long-range weapon sights. It is also optically fused with thermal imaging in the company’s fusion image intensification thermal system. WPT is reported to provide a better degree of detail, overall contrast, full-moon similarity, and range of shades when compared to green phosphor images. It offers a resolution of 60- to 74-lp/mm and a signal-to-noise ratio of 18 to 26.
