CyberLock electronic cylinders from Videx of Corvallis, Oregon, gives parking operators control over when collections can be made and who can make them. Single- and multispace parking meters can be transformed by replacing the meter’s existing mechanical lock core with an electronic cylinder. Then administrators can set keys with times to begin and end operations; then, if a key is lost, it will not operate after a certain time. The key contains permission on which locks the key can open and when. Each time the key opens a lock, a record is stored in both the key and the lock, creating a detailed audit report. The stainless steel components are weather-resistant.
