GuardTrax, developed by NovaTracker of Cranford, New Jersey, is a suite of technologies that allows users to monitor, track, and manage security personnel in real time over the Internet. The GuardTrax SFL uses a sensitive GPS antenna combined with GSM wireless communication to move critical location and activity data to a server platform. Data integrates into Web-interfaced GIS mapping and satellite imagery software so that managers can view activities of personnel from anywhere in the world. Because the device has built-in communication capabilities, guards don’t need additional mobile phones. Its incident reporting system uses a multibutton coding system, and the server relays messages via e-mail and SMS to appropriate parties. A motion sensor indicates when a device is stationary for a period of time, and a geo-fence breach alert is triggered if the device is taken in or out of a predefined area.
