Checkpoint Systems, Inc., of Thorofare, New Jersey, has introduced the RFID-based EAS Overhead 2.0, a key component of an integrated solution delivering real-time inventory and demand-driven replenishment. It serves as an electronic article surveillance (EAS) system that alarms and identifies stolen merchandise, improving operations at the point of exit. It leverages the OneTag approach, a single open-standard RFID tag for both inventory visibility and loss prevention. The Overhead 2.0 is engineered as a standalone exit door solution or with traditional EAS systems. It covers higher ceilings and wider store entrances than previous versions did, so it fits in more locations and offers easier installation.
