Secure Badgeholder

Appears in the issue.

J.A.M. Plastics of Burlington, Massachusetts, offers a new employee ID badge holder designed to prevent unauthorized data skimming of embedded information. The Secure Badgeholder provides a shield against unauthorized access to contactless information stored on personal identity verification (PIV) cards, common access cards (CAC), and other contactless smart cards. The device provides a barrier to unknown or unauthorized wireless communications. To activate a card, the user can squeeze the tabs on the holder, allowing communications to pass. Once the tabs are released, the card is shielded again. The rigid unit holds cards securely in place and allows one-handed removal of the card from the holder when needed. It is resistant to weather and water.
