VA-Missing software from Geutebruck of Windhagen, Germany, detects the removal of static objects from video-monitored scenes in museums, galleries, and other venues. It compares the current image with its own background model of the scene and checks out discrepancies for matches with criteria such as location, duration, and object size (corrected for perspective). It avoids unwanted alarms by continually updating its background model to incorporate gradual changes such as slow-moving shadows and by suppressing transient changes such as passersby. Now available as an integrated option in new equipment or an easy upgrade for GeViScope CCTV platforms, the software can be run on any analog or IP video channel. Separate license activation is required for each channel.
