Panasonic System Solutions Company of Secaucus, New Jersey, has created an integrated solution that combines control and management capabilities of the video surveillance and point-of-sale (POS) systems onto a single seamless platform. The software-driven Virtual Site Manager was developed in cooperation with Compass Group, a food service company, but the system can be applied to any retail application. The software pairs POS workstation data with recorded video to provide a comprehensive record of transactions and cashiers’ interactions with customers. Users can perform data searches for terms like “void,” “coupons,” or “no sale” to identify incidents. They can also track and monitor employee attendance, behavior, and appearance from anywhere in the world via Internet connection.
