The new F1R hard drive from Samsung Semiconductor of San Jose, California, offers one terabyte of storage capacity for enterprise and surveillance applications. The 3 1/2 inch drive offers a combination of capacity, performance, and reliability with a low power requirement. The drive uses only three platters and runs at 7,200 rpm. Its data-processing speeds are faster than other similar drives, and its low-power consumption keeps it cooler.
