A wearable digital camcorder that can record up to seven hours of video and audio has been launched by iRes Technology Corp. of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The 31⁄2-inch recorder provides hands-free video and audio recording at the touch of a button. It can be worn in a shirt pocket, attached to a lanyard, or pinned to clothing. The IRDC150 model offers one gigabyte of internal memory, while the IRDC250 features two gigabytes of internal memory plus PC Webcam functionality. This model also includes a stand that can be mounted on a desk or clipped to a laptop computer. The uCorder connects to a computer for viewing and saving files via USB without any need for proprietary software. Its internal battery is also charged via USB. The units include a slot for an optional memory card to provide additional storage.
