The Super Video Commander Kit from San Diego-based Sperry West Inc. makes it easy to set up and record surveillance video. Transmitters built into the covert cameras transmit at 5.8 GHz; customers choose among 15 models including ones that resemble a clock radio, pencil sharpener, smoke detector, and more. Customers also choose four wired cameras for operation as a plug-and-play system that uses snap-on connectors to power cameras from the kit case. The kit also includes a wireless pinhole camera that operates inside a dropped ceiling, a relay that extends the range of a wireless camera, and a long-range infrared camera. The internal motion-sensing digital video recorder plays back on the 12-inch LCD monitor built into the case’s lid or adapts to Internet use.
