DHS Launches Blog

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced the launch of a blog it calls The Blog @ Homeland Security.

It is designed to aid in communications between DHS and the public, says the agency press release.

The inaugural post, found at, features a video message from Secretary Napolitano outlining the Department’s five overarching responsibilities and an invitation for visitors to comment on and provide suggestions for The Blog.

It also notes the DHS news of the day: "Secretary Janet Napolitano and Mexican Minister of Finance and Public Credit Agustín Carstens signed a Letter of Intent that will strengthen bilateral cooperation between the United States and Mexico."
