SMS4, release 6, has more flexible administrative capability, so local administrators can configure the solution to reflect local priorities, while overall system control is retained at a central location. The software provides improved support for functions like importing maps in multiple formats and enhanced alarm verification and escalation. Its distributed architecture allows system components to be added at any point on the IP network, and it supports third-party cameras.
