CarSecure from Schreiner PrinTrust of Oberschleissheim, Germany, offers a solution to the problem of counterfeit toll stickers. The filtering properties of many windshields have made it impossible to check the stickers for authenticity using an external reader. The specialty pigment in the CarSecure stickers can be checked using a special hand-held spectroscope, which employs optical and acoustical signals to indicate whether the sticker is genuine. The specialty pigment can be embedded in the label without requiring graphic design changes. The material is UV-resistant and durable. Other security features, such as kiss-cuts and covert VOID messages, can also be integrated.
