The FBI is piecing together Adam Lanza’s hard drive. A vaccination team has been killed in Pakistan. A theft reporting app has been unveiled. And more.

►New media reports say Adam Lanza, the Sandy Hook Elementary shooter, destroyed his computer hard drive [1]before the attack and the FBI is trying to put it back together. Sources say there is no doubt the attack was planned. “The kid knew what he was doing,” an unnamed law enforcement official told the Daily Beast. The shooting left six adults and 20 children dead.

►Pakistanis have been skeptical of vaccination drives, ever since the fake one by the CIA in an effort collect DNA they thought would help find Osama bin Laden. That skepticism turned deadly on Tuesday. Unknown gunmen killed five vaccination workers [2] in different locations. Four of the shootings took place in one 20-minute period. Pakistani officials have temporarily halted the UN’s antipolio campaign.

►A new app in the UK is integrated with the police system to allow people to report theft from their mobile phones [3]. “The free public Personal Theft Reporting App allows the public to report personal theft of valuables using their mobile phones. The app provides an instant insurance crime reference and the option to cancel all payment cards free of charge with one call. The app will also enable a victim of phone theft to use a friend’s phone to report the crime,” InfoSecurity Magazine reports.

►in other news, the Islamist hacker group that targeted U.S. banks earlier this year says it’s preparing another wave of attacks [4]. ♦ China upgrades its Internet censorship and monitoring software [5]. ♦ Read the strange story of a Marine veteran stuck in a Mexican prison [6].
