New to the Scintrex Trace line from AUTOCLEAR of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, is the EVD 3100, a portable vapor explosives detector that uses chemiluminol to sense the vapors that tag plastic explosives for identification. The unit can detect TATP, EGDN, DMNB, and ICAO taggants. It can process 300 to 350 samples on a single charge of its battery, and its luminol cartridges each last for approximately 2,000 samples. It is also sensitive to explosives made of peroxide. The unit has an analysis time of less than a minute. The company also offers the E-3500 portable explosives detector and the E-5000, a desktop unit that detects both explosives and narcotics.
