It's not just in the United States that illegal aliens are finding jobs in the security industry, but in the United Kingdom as well.

The government review of 40,000 security staff given licences by the security regulatory body over the past three years is expected to be completed by the end of the year, the Home Office said.

A spokeswoman for the department said about 5,000 illegal immigrants were estimated to have been identified by the review.

Anyone found to be working illegally would have their licence taken away and would face removal from the UK, the Home Office said.

Worse, it has been discovered that illegal immigrants are also working in London's Metropolitan Police Service or the Met.

Much like what happened at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois [2], the Met hired their illegal employees from a contracting company. The Met has refused to say what jobs the illegal hires performed or how sensitive in nature they were.

And as Damian Green, shadow immigration minister, told the BBC, this isn't the first time the Home Office has hired illegal immigrants.

"Last year the Home Office discovered it was employing illegal immigrants as cleaners in the immigration department itself. From these new revelations it looks like no effective action was taken to check who has access to some of the most sensitive buildings in this country. It looks like the Home Office is still not fit for purpose."

Government officials and a representative from the Security Industry Authority [3], an independent organization that regulates the licensing of the private security industry, deflected criticism and said it was the responsibility of private employers to ensure that those they hire can legally work in the United Kingdom.
