The Securion is a solution for personalizing and laminating cards. Made by Evolis of Angers, France, the printer has a dual-sided color-printing module and a laminating station. It can print highly secure badges at a rate of 120 cards per hour and in a single pass. The integrated lamination device applies a transparent or holographic film through hot roller technology to expand the card’s life and protect against data misuse. The printer has a logic-based security that requires a password for printer activation, in addition to a physical lock to prevent unauthorized access to films, ribbons, and blank cards. It also offers optimized network connectivity. Other features include printing drivers for Windows XP, 2003, and Vista, as well as an LCD screen and a port monitor. It supports magnetic ISO and JIS, smart card encoders, and contactless card encoders.
