The Access Personal Edition is a modular software program for small to medium businesses from Bosch Security Systems, Inc., of Fairport, New York. Using the Access Modular Controller hardware platform, it supports up to 2,000 users, 64 readers, and 16 workstations. The platform allows users to scale up to a more advanced system without new hardware. The solution includes a data management system for personnel information, access profiles, scheduling, and visitor management, and up to 64 controllers that can make access control decisions even when offline. If a server system fails, data can be saved by the hardware and synchronized with the server once it is back online. Antipassback capabilities and automatic card cancellation give administrators the ability to protect against unauthorized use of cards. Optional PIN identification is available for users who do not want cards or who want another layer of security in addition to cards.
