Datacard Group of Minnetonka, Minnesota, has introduced the Datacard Artista retransfer color-printing module for the Datacard MX6000 card issuance system. The module delivers edge-to-edge, full-color card printing with 600 dpi image quality and an array of advanced card personalization capabilities. It can print up to 1,500 unique cards per hour. On-demand color printing effectively eliminates the need to preprint cards. Issuers can load blank white cards into the system and produce an entire run of individually distinct cards just as quickly as the same-size batch of identical cards. Capabilities include fine-line printing, metallic inks, spot color, and 1,200-dpi variable microprinting.
