A growing number of Web dangers and threats targeting Microsoft’s Windows Vista operating system are listed in McAfee Avert Labs’ Top 10 Security Threats for 2008.

A growing number of Web dangers and threats targeting Microsoft’s Windows Vista operating system are listed in McAfee Avert Labs’ Top 10 Security Threats for 2008. Instant messaging applications and Web 2.0 will be a few of the Web targets. Phishers are also likely to increasingly target smaller, less popular sites. Another trend is that “vishing,” phishing’s voice counterpart, is expected to climb 50 percent. These usually consist of an e-mail asking users to dial a number that connects to an automatic voice system. Targets are then asked to reveal a credit card.
