The Graffiti Cam is a new covert surveillance solution that immediately notifies police of graffiti-related activity. Made by Law Enforcement Associates Corporation of Youngsville, North Carolina, the unit consists of a high-resolution video recording unit concealed in an all-weather enclosure. When the recording unit is activated via graffiti-related motion, it sends text messages of the event within six seconds to designated cell phones and JPEG images to designated e-mail addresses. The camera can record images as close as two feet or as far as a quarter mile. In addition to graffiti, the unit can monitor for other crimes, such as drug trafficking, construction-site theft, and illegal dumping. The unit is available with a variety of cameras and lenses as well as disguise options.
