Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd., of Chatsworth, California, has introduced two new Acuity Public View Monitors. The PVM-L200 and PVM-L300 are LCD monitor systems with integrated cameras, all enclosed within a hardened chassis. They can be used for both security and merchandising purposes. They have an integrated flash reader that can play logos, corporate messages, or commercials when no motion is occurring in the camera scene. The camera image is continually transmitted to the head end for recording. If the monitor turns off or fails, the camera is still powered and will continue to transmit video for recording. Additional features include picture-in-picture, video loss detection, optional UTP video outputs, and pole and wall mounting options.
