The Data Dis-Guard cabinet provides secure storage of discarded sensitive materials that are awaiting destruction. Made by Security Engineered Machinery of Westboro, Massachusetts, the cabinet protects documents, crumpled paper, bound reports, microfilm, and other items that are deposited through a slot in the cabinet’s drawer. Materials land in a heavy-duty canvas bag inside a locked compartment that can be accessed only by authorized key holders. The bag has handles for easy transfer of materials, a zipper for security, and its own padlock hasp. Tamper-resistant features include a padlock hasp on the cabinet door, interior hinges, and hidden locking pins that hold contents inside, even if the cabinet is tipped over. The unit meets Federal Privacy Act requirements.
