On-Net Surveillance Systems Inc. of Suffern, New York, is collaborating with StarDot Technologies of Buena Park, California, to combine OnSSI’s surveillance software with StarDot’s high-resolution cameras and servers, enabling advanced video analytics to facilitate monitoring and minimize bandwidth requirements. Using the cameras’ “send on motion only” mode can save up to 70 percent on bandwidth. The cameras offer resolution up to five megapixels for identification of individuals and incidents and to enable digital zoom. They offer video motion detection, an automatic day/night infrared filter, and video output for hybrid applications. Working with the digital pan-tilt-zoom controls in the OnSSI software, a single camera with a wide-angle lens can replace three or four conventional cameras.
